Feng Yujun, China Institute of Contemporary Int’l Relations, said, "Politically, one major issue is to maintain continuity of Russia-China relations, and strengthen political trust between the two countries. I think this political trust is one of the most important foundations for long-term development of relations between the two countries."

Wu Dahui, professor of Tsinghua University, said, "For a long time, we have had close strategic coordination on issues such as international security, regional stability and new threats and challenges in the fight against terrorism. And in the coming period, leaders of both countries will make new judgements and understandings on the focus and key points of future strategic cooperation."
